Sibelius' last symphony absorbs the traditional four movements into a single, fascinating arch of music. Each section grows out of the previous one, developing the musical material to make a truly organic whole.

Mozart's most familiar piano concerto begins with a stealthy march which develops in many directions. The heart of the work is the slow movement of great beauty, and it ends with a riotous, comic-opera finale.

Brahms' titanic First Symphony took him years to write, but the result of his struggle is one of his most dramatic and fulfilling works.
