
Sarah Jane Buckley
Sarah Jane is best known for playing crazy Kathy Barnes in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks. The character filled the screens with three years of controversial and entertaining storylines, and in 2017 she returned to cause more chaos!
Most recently she has played Mrs Lyons and Alternate Mrs Johnston in Willy Russell’s critically acclaimed national tour of Blood Brothers.
Sarah Jane had one of her biggest challenges playing Eva Cassidy in Over The Rainbow. She then produced, directed, and starred in Songbird -The Eva Cassidy Concert. Her performance stirred the emotions of audiences and gained standing ovations nationwide.
Sarah Jane's credits include: The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat; A Slice of Saturday Night; Loose Women; Emmerdale; Doctors; Bergerac; Elvis The Musical; Twist and Shout; Hormonal Housewives (alongside Toyah Wilcox); The Tart and the Vicars Wife; Dancing in the Street; Popstars The Musical; John Godber's September in the Rain; Feature Film Kicks, Julie and the Cadillacs, That'll Be The Day (national tour) and many more.
Sarah Jane has also starred in countless pantomimes, including the last twenty years with UK Productions.
She was one half of the entertaining duo The Polka Dots, who toured with The Chuckle Brothers and Joe Pasquale.
As an award-winning solo artiste, she has travelled the world performing her one-woman shows and concerts, gaining many loyal fans along the way. She has also given performances in the Middle East and on Royal Caribbean.
As an ambassador for The Prince's Trust, she presents and performs at many events to raise considerable funds for the worthy cause, presenting with Carol Vorderman and Jools Holland for King Charles. Sarah is an accomplished corporate host and has presented the Celebrate Success Awards for HRH Prince Charles (now King) on many occasions and at many other corporate events.
Playing Annie in Gary Barlow's Calendar Girls the Musical is one of her all-time highlights. This led to performing at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Blood Cancer UK.
As a vocal coach, she loves sharing her industry knowledge and enthusing young performers.
Sarah Jane absolutely loves panto, and this year she is thrilled to return to Basingstoke and be part of the Christmas magic.
