Always adventurous and seeking to challenge the norm through his kora playing, Seckou will surprise his audience with his latest album, Homeland, by taking them on a journey from past to present. Once again, he bridges musical genres, this time by blending traditional rhythms and modern compositions to create a special sound, embracing afro-pop, urban and hip-hop.
Rhiannon Giddens has made her career out of stretching her brand of folk music, with its miles-deep historical roots and contemporary sensibilities, into just about every field imaginable. She's a two-time Grammy Award-winning singer and multi-instrumentalist, a Pulitzer Prize winner, and was named by NPR as one of its 25 Most Influential Women Musicians of the 21st Century.
Transitional musical poetry written and delivered by award-winning poets and rap artists from the UK and Senegal will be craftily sampled and woven into the music, shaping a one of a kind experience. Backed by an electrifying band, this promises to be an explosive live show!
