A concert to transport your imagination through storytelling and tall tales - from the romp that is Strauss’ Overture to Die Fledermaus, relating the farcical misadventures of a man dressed as a bat, to romantic tales of the Arabian Nights in Rimsky Korsakov’s Scheherazade. En route we drift off to a place of great calmness and tranquillity with Barber’s sublime Adagio for Strings and also hear the tumultuous life story of an imaginary soldier in Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kije Suite.
