Don’t miss a phenomenal showcase of drumming and percussion when a superstar group of musicians makes its first ever visit to the UK – the Bickram Ghosh Rhythm Experience

From the wildly infectious songs of bhangra and Bollywood to the beauty of its ancient dance traditions, Indian music has influenced everyone from George Harrison and Philip Glass to today’s chart hits.

Bickram Ghosh is one of the great tabla players of modern times. After working with giants such as Ravi Shankar and Ali Akbar Khan, his albums Talking Tabla and Rhythmscape broke new ground in extending the tradition. He is also well known for film scores, and was Oscar-nominated for the music to the film Jal.

He is joined by an incredible line-up including the explosive V. Suresh on ghatam (clay pot), the “mind-bending, gasp-worthy” (USA National Public Radio) B C Manjunath, Arun Kumar on Western drum kit, and introducing the brilliant young sitar player Abhishek Mallick

The unstoppable rhythms and amazing interplay between the all-star band make this an unforgettable performance. There are only three dates in the country, so make sure you see them at The Anvil.
