In line with the latest government guidance, we have put numerous measures in place across our venues to ensure that we remain Covid-19 secure. Please take the time to understand these measures before attending our venues.

If you feel unwell, have a high temperature, are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms , tested positive for Covid-19, or have been notified to isolate by NHS Test and Trace, please stay at home.

If you feel unwell prior to attending a performance for which you have tickets, please do not attend and e-mail our box office who will be happy to credit the value of your tickets to your account so that you can use it on future ticket purchases.

Face coverings MUST be worn at our venues for all performances unless you are medically exempt, under 11 or when eating/drinking. If you arrive at our venues without a mask, our staff will be happy to provide one.

For certain performances at The Anvil, all over 18s are legally required to prove Covid-19 status in order to enter our buildings.

These performances are:

Burn the Floor
That’ll Be the Day
Classic Rock Show
Calling Planet Earth
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK

You must show one of the following:

  • NHS Covid Pass: this lets you share your Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination records or test COVID-19 status in a secure way. You can get a pass digitally through the NHS app or online, or as a letter sent to you in the post.
  • Covid Vaccination Card plus photo ID
  • NHS notification of a negative lateral flow test result within the previous 48 hours

Please arrive early and have your documents ready to present. If you are unable to prove your Covid status, you will be denied entry.

To reduce contact with our staff, please book your tickets in advance. You will then be issued with an e-ticket which you can show on your phone. It is important that you keep your Anvil Arts account details up to date in case we need to contact you.

We are requesting contactless payment (not cash).

Please ensure all your party is present before making your way to the venue entrance.

Our venues open one hour before the performance start time; please arrive in plenty of time wearing your face covering (unless exempt).

We strongly encourage all audience members to check in using the NHS QR code or provide contact details using the Track and Trace form to reduce the spread.

You will then be asked to present your e-ticket for scanning by our Front of House team before being directed to your seat location in the auditorium.

We have an enhanced cleaning regime within our venues to ensure all touch point areas are regularly sanitised. This includes door handles and handrails.

Items such as booster seats and hearing enhancement headsets are also sanitised and available for use.

Our venues, including auditoria seating, undergo regular antiviral fogging.

Our auditoria have ventilation designed to draw in fresh air from outside, and extract accumulated expelled air from inside. Filters are changed as part of regular routine maintenance. Ventilation will run to circulate fresh air two hours before a performance, during and afterwards.

You may want to bring an extra layer in case you feel cold.

Windows to the foyer areas will also be opened to ensure fresh air circulation.

We have hand sanitiser stations positioned at the entrances to all our venues and auditoria. Please use hand sanitiser on entry.

Since 19 July 2021, venues have been able to operate at full capacity, so you will be sitting next to other people. Please be considerate of others' personal space when queuing and moving around the venue.

Beat the queues with our new hassle-free click & collect service. Pre-order your drinks and simply pick them up from your designated collection point. Orders for collection before the performance should be placed in advance of your arrival. Collected drinks can be taken back to your seat to enjoy.

Please continue to maintain a safe social distance when waiting to use the toilet facilities. Please help us to remain Covid-19 secure by always washing your hands.

Please maintain social distancing and use lifts with persons from your household or support bubble. Hand sanitiser has been placed outside all lift entrances.
