Norwegian Chamber Orchestra
Prokofiev Symphony no. 1 (Classical)*
Grieg Holberg Suite*
Beethoven Piano Concerto no. 3
Terje Tonnesen director*
One of the most sought-after performers in the world joins with this excellent European chamber orchestra. Mozart’s fourteenth piano concerto is one of his best. The first movement is full of variety in combining piano and orchestra, the slow movement is noble and eloquent, while the mock-contrapuntal finale is a burst of pure joy.
The works by Prokofiev and Grieg both hark back to earlier times and musical styles, in a successful and affectionate way. The performance of Beethoven’s piano concerto is sure to offer an engrossing comparison with that of Maria João Pires earlier in the season.

enjoyment…you are unlikely to find
more satisfying performances.” BBC Music
“What truly marked their work
was the sense of excitement,
which leapt off the stage.”
