Evening Star
Collect six of the most original musicians from France, Italy, Spain and England and ask them to play European traditional dance music influenced by the spirit of 21st century sound and you get Evening Star. Blowzabella’s Paul James (saxophone and bagpipes) leads a world class line up of BBC Young Tradition Award winner Luke Daniels (accordion), French hurdy-gurdy guru, Patrick Bouffard, Carlos Beceiro (multi-instrumentalist from Madrid’s La Musgana), Italian jazz and world music drum maestro Gigi Biolcati, and electronic bass guitarist Victor Nicholls.
This is their first ever live performance after which they will be playing in Europe. The formation of the band and this performance were made possible thanks to a commission from Anvil Arts.
