Luke Jackson Trio

Sat 2 Feb, 7.45pm

The Forge

  • Tickets: £15; Over 65s, under 16s and f/t students £13 (includes £2 booking fee)
In demand across the UK and Europe, Luke Jackson is an accomplished performer who impresses from the outset and takes his audience on a shared journey with a full bus down the bye-ways of love, hope, sorrow, and melancholy via the service stations of folk, roots, blues, Americana and soul.
Over the past few years he has steadily been developing a reputation for himself in the folk & roots circuits either through his solo shows, many festival appearances or when opening for such luminaries as Fairport Convention, Show of Hands, Seth Lakeman, Oysterband and many more. In 2013, Luke was nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for both the Horizon Award for Best Emerging Talent and The Young Folk Category.

Luke can fill rooms, with people leaving after the concert feeling refreshed and impressed by the originality of the sound and shocked with how full and complete the trio sound with three-part harmonies and the ability to have the crowd clapping, stomping and singing along.

He will be joined by Andy Sharps on electric bass and vocals and Elliott Norris (Gentlemen of Few) on drums and vocals.
