Paul Young

Everyone’s favourite 80s crooner Paul Young is back on the road, performing his much loved debut album in celebration of 35 years since its release.

Originally in 70s band Q-Tips, teen idol and Brit Award-winner Paul Young went solo in the 80s and his career took off from there.

The Peacemakers, composed in 2011, is a work extolling peace. Karl Jenkins dedicates this work to those who lost their lives during armed conflict. He takes inspiration from the utterances of world figures such as Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Gandhi all of whom chose to espouse peace in a violent world.

Basingstoke Variety Show 2018 - Mayor's Concert

The Basingstoke Variety Show returns to rock The Anvil once again after a record breaking 2017 show! 

BVS 2018 showcases some of the best talent from across the borough including soloists, schools and groups.

Featuring a live house band, the show will include music, dance, theatre and more - a programme that will appeal to all. With over 300 local performers in a 'one night only' show, this evening should not be missed!

Proceeds will go to the Mayor’s charity appeal.

Basingstoke Festival of Choirs and Heritage Light Orchestra

Hundreds of enthusiastic, local singers will be joining forces to present a programme of music to suit all tastes and ages.

Accompanied by the Heritage Light Orchestra and joined by special guests Vocal Point and St Mary's CE Junior School Choir, displaying the very best of the Borough's young talent.

The programme will include the music of Carl Orff, Karl Jenkins, Gilbert and Sullivan, Verdi and more, all guaranteed to lift the spirits and ensure a joyous evening of music making.
