The first reviews are in for our panto Sleeping Beauty... and it's great news!

Southern Daily Echo calls the show a "fantastic offering to get everyone in the mood for Christmas", with special mentions for Sue Holderness as Carabosse "the right balance of evil to entertain rather than scare" and "flawless" performances from Sarah-Jane Buckley and Ben Harlow. Meanwhile Silly Billy (Mark James) and Nanny Glucose (Charles Burden) had the children "in fits of giggles throughout". Read the full review. 
Sarah Gisborne of North Hampshire Families Online dubs Sleeping Beauty "a Christmas treat that the whole family will enjoy," adding; "The classic story was acted out with an injection of comedy, sing along songs and dance. All the characters were well played out and lovable". Read the full review
Hampshire Independent loved the special effects, claiming they "elevated the show to new heights", and praised a dream sequence as "so beautifully choreographed, it was visually stunning." All in all, the show was heralded as "a winner. Don't delay, book your tickets today." Read the full review. The Basingstoke Gazette says the show is "a great performance to take your family along to, with jokes for everyone, fun songs and enough laughs to keep even the most stubborn of grandparents smiling all the way through." Sleeping Beauty was the first ever pantomime for Baby Isabella of Dear Mummy Blog (as well as her parents' first trip to The Anvil!), who says it was "a really entertaining pantomime... perfect for families of all ages... We’d recommend this, a great first panto for kids." She also mentioned Nanny Glucose, whose "wit and personality really stole the show," and Katrina Bryan's "strong and effortless voice". Donna of What the Redhead said, declared it "the show of our festive season... This show could easily have been on West End – we haven’t stopped talking about it since we left the theatre." Robin Strapp from British Theatre Guide says the show is "filled with festive merriment and cheer that shimmers and sparkles... This is a panto that has something for everyone" and also highlights Mark James as a "rumbustious Silly Billy" and Charles Burden as "a consummate Dame... His interaction with Silly Billy was vivacious and the kids loved them". Katrina Bryan is "a perfect Sleeping Beauty" and "Director Damian Sandys ensures that the pace is maintained and everyone has a great time and the music is in the very capable hands of Martyn Cooper and his band."  Read the full review.
Finally The Stage says that "Sleeping Beauty boasts a strong cast, blessed with some very capable singers, glorious costumes, and exciting company numbers...
