Frequently Asked Questions

What time does the box office open?  Is it open on Sundays, evenings etc.?
Telephone lines are open:
Monday to Saturday from 10am (excluding Bank Holidays)
On Sunday the Box Office opens one hour before the show.
The Anvil box office counter is open from 10am, Monday to Saturday
The Haymarket box office counter is open 1 hour before every performance, and on Saturday: 10am - 2pm.
The box office closes at 6pm (later on performance evenings)

Is it cheaper to book on the internet?
Not always. Family tickets or group discounts are not available online. Child tickets purchased by telephone do not incur the £1 per ticket booking fee. Cash payments at the counter also do not incur this charge.

I have lost my tickets. Can I get them replaced?
If you have tickets for a seated performance the tickets can be replaced on the night of the show at a cost of 50p per ticket. We will require the full address details of the person who booked the tickets.  Standing tickets cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or forgotten on the night.

Can you post tickets out to a different address?
Tickets can only be sent to where the card is registered.

When can I expect to receive my tickets?
If you choose to pay postage, tickets are sent by first class post.

Why is there a booking fee?
The charge goes towards the overall costs of selling tickets, including direct on-line sales. These costs have risen over the last few years to the point where, like most venues, we are unable to absorb all of them any longer. They are considerably more than just the credit or debit card transaction fees, and this is why we apply the charge to payments by all methods other than cash at the counter. We have deliberately set our booking fee at a low level compared to many other venues in the region, and tickets for under 16s, students and families are exempt.

I have special access requirements, how do I book online?
So that you get the best customer service we ask that you contact the Box Office on 01256 844244 and explain your requirements. Booking online may mean your requests will not be fulfilled to the best of our ability.

Which payment cards do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Visa Debit, Electron, Maestro & Solo. Card payments are subject to a £1 per ticket booking fee.

Do you sell or accept Theatre Tokens?
We do not sell or accept Theatre Tokens. We sell our own Gift Vouchers which can be used at any of our venues as full or part payment for tickets.

What is your child policy?
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
Children two years of age & under will not be admitted to the performance unless it is identified as a 'children's show' where they will require an infant in arms tickets at a cost of £1 (seated on a adult ticket holders lap)

Can I go on a waiting list for sold out shows?
We do operate a waiting list for people interested in tickets for sold out events, as very occasionally changes to the event may mean more tickets become available. Please call the Box Office on 01256 844244 or email the Box Office including your name, address, postcode and a daytime telephone number, the show & how many tickets are required.

You have sold out - should I buy tickets on Ebay?
NO.  If there are any changes to the performance, we are not able to notify you and any money would be refunded directly to the original booker.  Our tickets are strictly non-transferable.

Why are there tickets available on Ebay when you have sold out?
We never put tickets on Ebay. Any that are shown there are from customers/ticket touts trying to sell them.  We will not allow customers into our venues if they have bought tickets from an unauthorised agent, and tickets bought from these sources at more than the advertised ticket price are void.

What time should I pick up my tickets?
15-30 minutes before the performance begins

Will I be allowed in to the performance if I arrive late?
Latecomers may only be admitted at a suitable point in the performance at the discretion of the management.

I saw an event advertised on an artist's website but the event is not in your listings; why not?
We usually add forthcoming events to our website as soon they go on sale.  However, circumstances beyond our control can occasionally prevent us from doing so.  In all cases we will not add an event to our listings until the artist has been confirmed and all appropriate legal documentation completed. Sometimes promoters and artists advertise events on their web sites before these formalities are completed. Please contact the Box Office with the performance information & where you have seen it listed so we can look into it for you.

I can't see a seating plan on the website
Seating plans are available on the website.  Go to How to book, then select Seating Plans on the left hand side. At the bottom of the page are there PDF documents available to download.
