Edinburgh Fringe Festival round-up

Posted on

What a month it's been at the world's most celebrated arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe, where some of our upcoming performers received excellent reviews.

Our autumn 2019 opening artist, John Robins (13 Sep), set the bar high as he was listed as a Guardian Stage recommendation early on. Unsurprisingly, he did not disappoint, with Hot Shame being reviewed as "a riotously funny show" by Beyond the Joke as well as receiving ★★★★ from The Guardian.

Milton Jones (26 Feb) ranked Top 10 for Dave's annual Funniest Joke of the Fringe. If you want to know what the joke is, read here from What's On Stage!

Meanwhile, fellow comedians Frank Skinner (26 Sep - sold out), Rhod Gilbert (30 Nov - sold out) and Henning Wehn (16 Nov) all received ★★★★ reviews including from Sunday Post, The Scotsman, and The Fountain (with Henning being awarded an additional 1/2 star!).

Equally earning ★★★★ were both the "compelling" Black is the Color of my Voice (9 Nov) and The Thinking Drinkers (7 Mar) from The SkinnyThe Student Newspaper and BritishTheatre.

If you missed these excellent shows at the Fringe (or even if you didn't!) make sure you catch them at our venues over the coming months.
