Dr John Cooper Clarke

Plus support

John Cooper Clarke shot to prominence in the 1970s as the original ‘people’s poet’. Since then his career has spanned cultures, audiences, art forms and continents.

Jackie Oates

Jackie Oates is synonymous with the reinvigoration of English folk. Her mellifluous voice, plaintive fiddle and tantalizing approach to traditional songs gained her several BBC Folk Awards in a career that’s seen her perform as a member of the nascent Unthanks, collaborate with Alasdair Roberts and Belinda O’Hooley, and release six acclaimed solo albums.

An inventive and enthralling artist; who else can say they’ve been immortalised as a Lush cosmetic, featured on Lauren Laverne’s 6 Music show and appeared in Midsomer Murders.

Chris Wood

Chris Wood is an uncompromising writer whose music reveals his love for the un-official history of the English speaking people. With gentle intelligence he weaves the tradition with his own contemporary parables.

His most recent album So Much to Defend has received wide critical acclaim.

On stage Chris has the air of a craftsman who no longer needs to be precious about his art. Without any apparent effort he reaches deep into an enviable repertoire of songs before revealing another gem.

Fairport Convention

with special guests The 4 of Us and Saving Grace*

Renowned as the founding fathers of British folk-rock music, Fairport Convention have maintained consistently high standards for over five decades and remains as entertaining as ever.

After more than fifty years on the road, their passion for live performance has never wavered. Still bold, still vigorous and still willing to take musical chances, an evening with Fairport never fails to dazzle and delight.

Steve Harley

This performance promises subtle lyricism, mingled with great improvisation and rocky rhythms.

Accompanied by his Cockney Rebel band-mates, they'll perform tracks from 13 of Steve's original albums including all-time favourites Mr Soft, Judy Teen, Mr Raffles, Sebastian, and of course, Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me).

Tony Hadley

Millions know him as the former front man of Spandau Ballet, which earned him the accolade of one of pop’s great vocalists.

Now after the much anticipated solo album Talking to the Moon, Tony Hadley will be joining us for a night of Gold music, giving you the chance to hear tracks from his new album plus some Spandau Ballet hits!
