The Navigator Project

Youth music project takes off at The Anvil

Posted on

A very special performance took place at The Anvil this week, as pupils from two local schools presented original music as part of The Navigator project.

Since the start of autumn term, a team of professional musicians has been working with Dove House School Academy and Saxon Wood School on music inspired by a silent Buster Keaton movie from 1924.The Navigator, one of Keaton's most successful films, sees the actor on a comical high seas adventure with the glamourous neighbour who rebuffed him.

Through a series of workshops, students created their own soundtrack, exploring sounds of the sea and writing their own original songs, culminating in a live performance in The Anvil auditorium on Tue 28 Mar

The Anvil Trust, which runs The Anvil, The Haymarket and The Forge, is an independent educational charity.
